Untuk menceritakan hal-hal yang telah lampau seperti kemarin, dua hari lalu, minggu lalu, bahkan tahun lalu, kita menggunakan past tense, dimana past tense menggunakan V2 kata kerja ke-2. Berikut ini adalah contoh cerita bahasa Inggris menngunakan past tense.

Andon is one of my very inspiring person, he is very kind especially after myself could help him solving his serious problem. Yesterday he sent me sms, he asked me whether I was at home or not. He maybe thought that I was not at home, he thought that I was being in school. Where as yasterday I did not go to school, I just spent the day to help my father in the garden. I told him that I was at home, then he said that he would go to my house. I was so surprised about it. I did not think that he had gone home from Jakarta, it was said that he went home from Jakarta last Friday. The day was so dark. I actually forbid him to come to my house, but .... he wanted to come to my house although it was rained hard. He forgot the way to go to my home, then he asked me to tell him about it. I told him just go stright from Madukara market, then go on till arriving in Clapar village, then asked people about my village.

Waiting for his attendance, I was actually afraid, first because the wheather that was not supporting. It rained hard with thunder too, secondly he did not know the way well. After being about an hour he had not arrived yet, I became so worried. I really thought that he lost. I asked him where he had arrive, but he did nit reply. I knew he was on the way.

After waiting more than an hour, he arrived in my home, I saw his face. He was with a girl, of course I thought the girl was his girl friiend. I was so happy that he did it. it really moved me. I was really happy with his attendace.  We chatted many topics. He also difefrent from a year agoo when he came here for the firts time. He was very calm, he almost never said something. But yesterday, we could chat many things. At that time I asked him around the girl who was with him, he told me that the girl was his young sister. Mmm .....  at first I thought she was his girl friend but she was his young sister.

I forced them to spend the night in my house but they refused because the following day his youg sister had to go to school... ya I could not force them again, as a result, he went home although it was late afternoon. Actually either myself or my parent had forced them to spent the night here. If he was alone, of course I would not permit him to go home.

Hmmm... how happy I was. He was one of my very inspiriing person who was very kind. I do hope I can always have good relationship with him. For me, he is more than just a friend. I always cal him my brother. I feel that he is my own brother. Ya although we are far, but I do hope we can always keep in touch. I like this brotherhood.
