Using "ini"

USING “INI”

I will tell you how to use “ini” in Bahasa Indonesia. In bahasa, we will often use the word ini like when we want to say :

-         Ini hotel Sentanu

-         Ini gedung olah raga

-         Ini rumah sakit

-         Ini teman saya

-         Ini adalah sebuah restoran.

-         And so on...

Using ini in bahasa is very simple because we do not need to pay attention on the noun that we want to use. We do not need to consider either plural or singular noun. We can say ini to mention plural noun, we can also use ini to say singular noun. Pay the following examples....

1.   Ini hotel bagus                   : this is good hotel

2.   Ini ibu saya                          : this is my mother

3.   Ini saudara saya                : this is my brother

4.   Ini rumah saya                   : this is my house

5.   Ini hewan saya                  : these are my animals

It can be seen clearly that ini followed by singular noun is same with ini that followed by plural noun.

Here are more examples...

1.    Ini apel manis                                  : this is sweet apple

2.    Ini sapi besar                                   : this is big cow

3.    Ini beberapa semangka                  : these are some watermelons

4.    Ini adalah beberapa siswa             : these are some students

5.    Ini tugas berat                                 : this is heavy task

The ini in number 1, 2, and 5 are followed by singular noun (apel manis, sapi besar, and tugas berat).

The ini in number 3 and 4 are followed by plural noun.

But, we say same way that is “ini” in both plural and singular noun.
